Fact is, Acer latest range of Windows Mobile handsets aren’t bowling gadget fans over. Fortunately, the company has something more exciting up its sleeve – an Android handset.
Little is known about it so far, and this latest confirmation comes from an anonymous ‘source’ of the lowest order but it does have a few facts on its side, and enough vagueness to make the anticipated September window seem plausible.
The A1 – so named not because of Acer’s love of a BRIT Award winning boy band from the early naughties, but because there’s a E1, C1, F1 and L1 coming at the same time packing Windows Mobile 6.5 – is a touchscreen handset boasting Google’s famed open source mobile platform. Business Mirror broke the story, citing an anonymous source who wishes to stay incognito so that he or she won’t get themselves fired.
If the September time frame proves correct, it definitely won’t be the first new Android ...
