Taiwan-based PC manufacturer Acer this morning said its fourth quarter revenues were down 5%-10% from a year ago, taking a hit from the “overall market situation.” That’s despite the growing popularity of the company’s low-cost netbooks.
The Acer comments are consistent with other signs of trouble in the PC sector, including a recent warning from Intel and wide-scale job reductions at Lenovo . But it’s not as bad as the 23% drop in the quarter that Intel suffered.
