Alvarion Reportedly Mulls 10% Workforce Reduction

 
Alvarion (ALVR) is considering cutting its staff by about 10%, according to Haaretz.com and other Israeli news sites. The WiMax products company has a little over 1,000 employees, most of them in Israel. Alvarion is not the only company cutting tech jobs in Israel: the Jerusalem Post reports that Motorola cut 50 Israeli jobs on Sunday, while NDS Corp . cut another 50. The Post noted that a survey by the Israel Association of Electronics and Software Industries found 73% of the country’s high-tech companies plan to cut staff by 10%-15%. ALVR today is down 14 cents, or 4.4%, to $3.06. (link)
