Apple: China Unicom Says In Talks To Sell iPhone

 
China Unicom (CHU) Chairman Chang Xianbing told reporters that the company is holding talks with Apple (AAPL) about selling the iPhone in China, Reuters reports. He told reporters that the company is in talks with many handset suppliers, including Apple. China Mobile (CHL) Chairman Wang Jianzhou today also said his company would continue to talk to Apple about potentially selling the iPhone, according to the news wire. The story noted that one quirk the carriers will face is the availability in China of iPhone clones, including one called the Hiphone ; there are already large number of iPhones in use in China that were actually bought in other countries.
