Apple: Live From Macworld 2009; New Version Of iPhoto With Face Recognition, Geo Tags, Slideshow Themes

 
Today marks a significant turning point in the Apple story, with Apple CEO Steve Jobs yielding his usual Macworld keynote to marketing exec Phil Schiller . (It also marks the last time Apple will participate in a Macworld conference in San Francisco.) I’m here at Moscone West anyway, along with a few zillions others, to see what transpires. I’ll blog it live; bear with the typos and sentence fragments. 8:59 Some “voice of God” announcer is asking us to shut off the cell phones. We’re getting closer. 9:01 Given the size of the crowd - every seat is taken - you’d THINK Steve was doing his usual thing. It would be cool if he at least showed up to wave to the crowd, dontcha think? 9 02 Amazing how people here are carrying Blackberry Bolds. More iPhones. But a lot of Bolds. 9:03 Lights dimmed.
