Apple is a very successful company, making a hefty profit in the process. Which makes it the ideal target for a lawsuit. And this week's litigation focuses on the iPhone's Safari browser.
The company slugging it out with Apple goes by the name of EMG Technology LLC. It's not disputing the browser itself, just the technology used to navigate and display site on small phone screens, which apparently touches on the company's patent. Or to put it simply, EMG Technology LLC wants cash, lots of it and plans to get it via a Texas courtroom. Strangely, it's not tracking any other company, even though similar technology is used by the likes of HTC and RIM.
Apple is refusing to comment, probably because its legal team is tied up with case cracks and 3G issues . We'll keep you posted on the case and indeed with next week's legal lawsuit. And the one the week after. And after...and after...
