We saw the open-source platform Android running on the world's first non-phone device at CES this year , thanks to the company Touch Revolution. Since then, it's been rumoured Archos is planning a PMP/internet media tablet with the Android OS, but now we hear original netbook manufacturer ASUS is dipping its toe into the Android pool with its successful Eee PC range.
To be honest, we're surprised it's taken the rumours this long to form, as Android is well suited to running on the inexpensive netbooks. According to Samson Hu, head honcho at ASUS' Eee PC division, they're looking at the OS and are considering launching an Android netbook by the end of the year.
ASUS has recently teamed up with GPS giant Garmin to form Garmin-ASUS, and they've announced their first products, the Nuvifone M20 and G60 , will be available on both Windows Mobile and Android.
