Not content with dominating the budget market, ASUS is now tempting the tree huggers to its wares with the launch of the Bamboo Series of notebooks.
The lack of a crank handle and optional wind power is unlikely to win over Greenpeace, but it just might appreciate that bamboo case - artisan-grade Moso bamboo panelling if we're being specific - giving users a feel that's 'like running their fingerprints across furniture'. And that's not all, the touch pad is also made from genuine bamboo fibre patterns and thanks to the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine, power consumption is down, boosting battery life between 35% and 70% and seriously reducing your CO2 emissions.
Take your pick from an 'ultra slim' 11.1-inch or 12.1-inch model, both packing Intel Core 2 Duo processors and a choice of specification, selling from £1,349. Well, no-one said saving the planet comes cheap.
