BlackBerry Curve 8900 gets UK launch

Well, we're no psychics, but we did say a few weeks back that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 would be available in the UK before Christmas. And well, here it is. Also known as the Javelin, the Curve 8900 is the slimmest BlackBerry to date and an upgrade of the current Curve, offering up an improved 480 × 360 display, a 512MHz processor, Wi-Fi, GPS, an auto focusing 3.2MP camera, microSD slot, a slightly altered keyboard and trackball and the new style of BlackBerry OS, already seen on the Storm and Bold. Strangely, the Curve 8900 doesn't have 3G, which is likely to be the same deal breaker as the lack of Wi-Fi on the Storm. Come on RIM, get your act together. It should be widely available before Christmas. T-Mobile, Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse are promising stock before the year is out. Alternatively, you can pre-register with O2, but you'll have to wait until January for your messaging fix. Link: RIM   The best and worst of Xmas It's a time of giving, but not all ... (link)
