Plot
Inquisitive youngster, Untaru befriends a wounded Hollywood stuntman in 1920s LA. Together they begin an emotional journey, taking characters from their own world into an elaborate revenge fairytale.
Review
While this super-imaginative and charming fairytale fails to rank among the powerful and vivid stories it seeks to emulate, it might be one of the prettiest we’ve ever seen.
The Fall belongs to an elite club of motion pictures where the Blu-ray experience and a decent HDTV helps it soar far above its limitations as a simple movie.
The colours are wonderfully vivid, almost obnoxiously intense in the way they captivate the viewer’s attention. The scenery, costume and landscapes are stunning and, again, lend themselves beautifully to hi-def. But sadly, in the foreground, the story falls flat, failing to strike the necessary emotional chords.
