Dell (DELL) has been developing a pocket-sized device for connecting to the Internet, according to the Wall Street Journal , which cites “people familiar with the company’s plans.” The device uses the Google (GOOG) Android operating system software, the story said.
The story also said that two people who saw the device said it is slightly larger than an Apple iPod Touch; it also said the device could be launched in the second half of this year, but that it also could be delayed or scrapped entirely. And the report said the device could be sold through wireless carriers.
DELL today rose 17 cents, or 1.2%, to $13.85.
