Forget browsing the after shaves in the duty free shop, you can now update your digital music collection at an airport PlayPoint kiosk, courtesy of EMI and InMotion.
The music giant is offering DRM-free albums for iPod users at PlayPoint Media Hotspots, which you'll find initially at 20 US airports. $12 will get you a new or classic album (think Coldplay rather than early Pink Floyd), a price that's unlikely to be matched when the machines hit the UK.
How does it work in practice? Well, no-one really knows to be honest. Syncing an iPod with a kiosk should drop the album on your iPod, but as it's syncing with a new computer, it just might clear out the rest of your collection. We're guessing this isn't the case, but if you're carrying 3,000+ tracks already, you might want to read the small print.
