Google announces mobile app for BlackBerry

 
Google's launching new apps most weeks now, so it's no surprise to hear that they've just unveiled a Google Mobile app for the 40 million BlackBerry smartphones sold by RIM, after announcing a similar app for the iPhone .   - See our video of the BlackBerry Storm here - See our photo unboxing of the Storm here   The new Google Mobile app will allow users to search on the internet using voice commands, and when coupled with My Location, it can sort the search results geographically - the example Google uses is searching for fish and chips in London, so the restaurants closest to your location will be displayed.   It's not just internet search which can be controlled by voice commands on your 'Berry, with all manner of Google goodies, including Gmail and Google Maps also supported.   Unfortunately the BlackBerry Storm isn't compatible with this new application, however we have it on good authority that all the recent models should work just fine.    ...
