Hands on video: Sony Vaio P series ultra-portable laptop
Whatever you do, don't call it a netbook. Sony's new P series Vaio is an ultra-portable laptop and their dinkiest ever.
- Launch the new Vaio gallery now and bathe in its sex appeal
There's a reason why Sony is getting so precious about avoiding the dreaded netbook tag. This coat-pocket-sized marvel of modern physics weighs just 639g, fits some serious specs into its tiny frame and is sexier than any damn netbook on the planet. Sadly, starting at a preposterous £849, it's about four times as expensive as most of them too.
The 8.9-inch super-widescreen (1600 x 768) display is backed up by 2GB RAM and a 60GB hard-drive (on the low-end model). It runs on an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and an isolated keyboard - another distuinguishing factor from the slew of vanilla netbooks.
Check out our video report to see our vedict on the new Vaio and see this sexy beast in action. Available in February, we bring you the Sony Vaio P series.
