Remember being told that too much TV would give you square eyes? Turns out it was the family pet who needed more protection from household gadgets.
A survey of 3000 pet owners recently carried out by insurers Petplan, revealed that home gadgets are endangering the health of our animals.
The biggest culprit in this attack on animal safety is the iPod which is responsible for 15% of all incidents where pets and gadgets fight it out.
The survey also claims that 10% of pet owners surveyed admitted to their pooch, parrots and even reptiles having been injured by Plasma TVs, laptops and the Nintendo Wii.
A presumably unashamed 5.8% of those surveyed also claimed that their pets had been injured by their home karaoke machine.
It's like a gadged-up Tom & Jerry; laptops slamming shut on cats like an enraged cartoon oyster and TVs slowly shuffling to the edge of their stand to topple onto the pesky mouse.
