'Why two screens? Most people use two monitors at their desktop. We wanted to give them all the things they're used to on their desk.' Not our words, but the words of a Lenovo product marketing manager, explaining the need for the Lenovo W7000ds dual screen laptop.
We're not convinced - unless you work in an IT department, tabbed browsing or separate windows are usually more than adequate. But if you feel the need to have your email or messager window permanently in view as you do some 'proper' work, the W7000ds could be for you.
Expected to land in early 2009, the W7000ds offers a super-bright 17-inch primary screen, 10.6-inch secondary tilting screen, a choice of quad-core Intel Core 2 processors and Nvidia graphics, up to 8GB of memory, 960GB of storage, plenty of connectivity and a Wacom digitiser pad for your doodles.
A big laptop for a big price, the best part of £2,500 we're told. Or the price of two average laptops if you like.
