Lenovo Group shares are halted in Hong Kong trading amid expectations that the company will announced a major restructuring, Bloomberg reports .
Lenovo said in a statement that the trading halt is pending the release of “price-sensitive” information. Yesterday, the stock was up 12%.
Goldman Sachs analyst Donald Lu write in a research note yesterday that the company could cut 200 jobs in Beijing and merge its Asia-Pacific operations with those in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Lenovo is the world’s fourth-largest PC maker, after Hewlett-Packard, Dell and Acer .
