Medion is once again stalking the supermarket shelves, with the Akoya 8610 notebook offering big-screen Blu-ray for a seriously tempting price.
The 18.4-inch 1680 x 945 display isn't quite up to full HD, but with the aid of your HD-ready TV and a HDMI cable, you can still enjoy your high-def flicks in all their glory. Or you can watch a slightly scaled-down version on the go - the battery should just about be good for the average HD movie, so you can leave Dr Zhivago and Once Upon A Time In The West at home.
Other notable features include an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS graphics card, Dolby Home Theater audio, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive and a digital TV tuner. Look out for it amongst the baked beans and booze at Tesco, priced at £799.
