Dell (DELL) CEO Michael Dell gave some new hints today that the PC maker plans to move into the cell phone business.
In a speech in Tokyo, IDG News Service reports , Dell said that “it is true that we are exploring smaller-screen devices,” adding that while he had no announcements to make today, “when we have new news we will share that with you.”
He noted that the company has been integrating 3G radios into its notebooks for the last three years, adding that “we already have agreements with many mobile carriers around netbook devices, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect that we would have smaller mobile Internet devices or smartphones in the future.”
