Microsoft (MSFT) has confirmed at a press event at its Israeli R&D center that it acquired the intellectual property of 3DV Systems , a company that has technology for identifying movement in three dimensions, according to the Israeli business newspaper Globes . The 3DV technology is used in Project Natal , a system unveiled at the recent E3 games conference that makes it possible to control games through movement and words, without a controller. Terms of the deal were nto disclosed, the story said.
There were reports about the acquisition earlier this year , but neither company had confirmed the deal.
