Tens of thousands of owners of Microsoft's Zune music player were dismayed this morning to discover that their device had stopped working '” in a worldwide failure that appeared to make consumer electronics history. Microsoft said it was working on the problem, which appeared to be connected to an internal clock designed to help manage subscriptions.
