Motorola launches the Evoke QA4

 
Apple has already hinted at a similarity between its iPhone and the Palm Pre. And now the Palm Pre looks to be inspiring a new generation of its own, including the newly-launched Motorola Evoke QA4. Mind you, any touchscreen slider that launches in the next 12 months will inevitably be compared to Palm's much-hyped smartphone. Although in truth, the Moto effort isn't quite as smart as the Pre. No 'hard' QWERTY keyboard for a start, but you will find a virtual one on that 2.8-inch WQVGA touchscreen, along with plenty of widgets to access everything from full HTML web browsing, RSS reading and messaging through to social network and YouTube access. A 2 megapixel camera (with video recording), aGPS, stereo Bluetooth and a microSD slot make up the rest of the key features. To give Motorola its due, the Evoke QA4 doesn't look a bad handset at first glance and if was on the shelves in 2008, could have made a big impression.
