Netflix (NFLX) shares rallied Monday after the company unveiled price increases for renting Blu-Ray discs on on its rental plans. In a blog post , Netflix noted that it pays up to 30% more for Blu-Ray discs than for conventional DVDs. The company noted in the post that close to 10% of its customers now request Blu-Ray discs. Prices will go up as much as 20%, depending on which plan a subscriber chooses.
NFLX today rose $2.35, or 5.9%, to $42.03.
