Nintendo Wii Check-up just what the Dr ordered

Squeezing in a trip to the doctors is challenging even when you’re knocking at death’s door, but now with the power of Nintendo you’ll be able to have a once-over from home.   The Check-Up - which will act as a 'wellbeing guidance system between you and a health professional' - will be like having your very own Dr. Mario in your living room.   Made in partnership with Hitachi, NEC, Panasonic and a health insurance company, the Check-Up will vet anyone from children to grandmothers and even your pets. Well, not actually your pets but we imagine it’s in the pipeline.   Available from April, the service is reportedly compatible with Wii Fit and its Balance Board, plus NEC’s mobile phone health platform, which will enable you to check your progress or access advice.   Now there’s officially no excuse to be a couch potato.   Link: Nintendo (via Engadget ) (link)
