When we first tested the Nokia 5800 , we were smitten with its generous attitudes towards music, and its lovingly crafted touchscreen interface. At the time, however, only the Nokia Gods knew when we’d be able to walk into a store and take one home.
Well now the Finns have spoken, and the Tube will be available from January 23 rd 2009; which is a Friday in case you were wondering.
£249 will land you a 5800 SIM-free, but it won’t be available on contract (on Vodafone, O2, Orange, T-Mobile UK, Virgin Mobile) until the 30 th.
It’s not as beastly-powerful as the upcoming Nokia N97 , but if you long for a non-Apple touchscreen, there’ll be nought much better till then.
