Nokia (NOK) is holding talks with Taiwan notebook makers and contract electronic manufacturers on its plans for potentially entering the netbook market, DigiTimes reports , citing sources at Taiwan notebook manufacturers.
Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo earlier this week was quoted as saying the cell phone maker is considering entering the laptop business.
According to DigiTimes, the leading potential partners for Nokia are Compal and Foxconn . The story also said that Nokia hasn’t yet decided whether to use the Intel Atom processor or the Qualcomm Snapdragon as the platform for its netbook.
Nokia today is down 21 cents, or 2.2%, to $9.31.
