Don't say we didn't warn you . Yes, just as we predicted last week, O2 (along with Carphone warehouse) has announced a cut in the price of the iPhone. So if that part of the equation is correct, does that mean there really is a new iPhone on its way for summer? Only time will tell.
Not that it makes the current iPhone redundant. Indeed, with the iPhone OS 3.0 incoming , the current model looks tastier than ever - and now it's even cheaper. How cheap? Well, you can now bag an 8GB iPhone for 'free' for £34.26 a month, down from the previous figure of £44.05 per month. And a £44.05 a month tariff now gets you a 'free' 16GB iPhone - previously you would have been looking at something like £75 per month for one of those for free.
Catch? Well, there is one. The 'added value' tariffs are only available on 24-month contracts. And that's a big catch. In the world of mobile phones, two years is a seriously long period of time, especially if (as rumoured), Apple does bring out a ...
