Orange to drop BlackBerry Bold?

 
Back in October, Orange suspended BlackBerry Bold sales due to ongoing problems and a high number of returns, bringing it back to the market with improved software just weeks later. Not improved enough, according to The Guardian . The newspaper claims Orange is considering pulling the device permanently, with those same faults (dropped calls and poor reception heading the list) again to blame. Orange itself is being 'bold' in the face of such rumours and in a joint statement with maker RIM, declared 'The BlackBerry Bold 9000 smartphone is available to Orange customers both in-store and online via its website.' Which doesn't quite answer the question of it being pulled in the future, but some backing is better than none we suppose. The Bold's problems have been largely forgotten of late, helped partly by the issues with the BlackBerry Storm, notably savaged by Stephen Fry on his Twitter blog . Those seem to have been sorted for now, let's hope any ongoing 'quirks' with the Bold can be cleaned ... (link)
