Panasonic SDR-H90 world's first 70x optical zoom camcorder, unveiled at CES 2009

Panasonic has released a handful of new camcorders at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. The highlight is the SDR-H90 which boasts a record-breaking 70x optical zoom. Because such a monstrous zoom will make the steadiest hand look like an alcoholic waking up on New Years day, the camera comes with optical image stabilising. Even though it faces a near impossible task to keep things steady at that range, Panasonic is confident that its correction process which repeats around 4,000 times each second will make it useable. Panny's iA technology also automagically detects shooting conditions and adjusts the settings to finf the most suitable. This will accurately pick between Scenery, Portrait, Spot Light and Low Light modes. The SDR-H90 will be going on sale in the US April and will come in four colours – silver, black red and blue. Price is set to be $449.95. Link: Panasonic     | T3's CES coverage is powered by Canon     T3 at CES 2009 The ... (link)
