The average spend on Christmas gadgets is set to be a generous £168, of which more than half (59%) will be spent online, according to new research.
Interestingly, the top three most desirable gifts include a hybrid car, showing that green concerns are increasingly high on the prioritoes list. The other two top gifts were the Nintendo Wii and a plasma screen TV.
However, the reality of what people are actually going to buy is slightly different, according to the survey from Energizer, with a mere 5% of shoppers planning to splash out on a plasma gift for a loved one.
