Research In Motion (RIMM) told analysts today that the company is planning a new version of the touch screen BlackBerry Storm .
As a meeting with analysts in Toronto, co-CEO Jim Balsillie said that a new Storm is part of its focus on pushing further into the retail market. “We see this very large and untapped consumer market,” he said at the meeting, according to Reuters . Balsillie said that more than half of the company’s 25 million subscribers are now in the “non-corporate” category.
Balsillie said that the Storm, which received decidedly mixed reviews on its debut, was a :”huge success in terms of sales and adoption.”
RIMM today is up $2.55, or 3.5%, to $74.85.
