Ricoh CX1 camera gets official launch

If you happen to see a star of stage or screen on your travels this summer, you just might be glad you picked up the newly-launched Ricoh CX1. Before your celebrity target manages to dash into a hip eaterie or stretch limo, you might well have captured four of five contenders for tomorrow's front page, thanks to a continuous shooting mode of four frames per second. And not just any old shot either, the CX1 packs Ricoh's  Smooth Imagine Engine IV for faster, more detailed image processing and a  Dynamic Range Double Shot Mode, effectively taking two shots at a time with different exposures, recording a final image that uses  the properly exposed portions of each image. Clever stuff. If that's not enough, the CX1 also offers a 10 megapixel sensor, 7x optical zoom, image stabilisation, a 3-inch LCD screen, plenty of shooting modes and move recording. Look out for it from 13th March, priced at £299.99 Link: Ricoh (link)
