RIMM: NTT DoCoMo Halts Bold Sales Due To Overheating

NTT DoCoMo has halted sales of the Research In Motion (RIMM) BlackBerry Bold because the phone can overheat what the battery is recharged, Reuters reports . (I would note that while I write this sentence, by Bold is plugged into one one my laptop’s USB ports.) Anyway, DoCoMo has sold about 4,000 Bolds, at about 30 users have complained that the phone’s keyboard has heated up; there have been no reports of burns or fires. RIMM said in a statement that the issue appears to be limited to Bolds sold in Japan since last week. RIMM today is off 42 cents, or 1.1%, to $39.12. (link)
