Samsung gets tough with the Xplorer handset

We've seen a few tough mobiles of late, but we think the Samsung Xplorer can trade blows with any of them. And still come out unscathed. Designed for the outdoor worker or sports enthusiast, the Xplorer trades off a few high-end features for that tough guy exterior, specifically an anti-shock urethane casing that can withstand bumps, bangs, scrapes, scuffs, dust or even water. Indeed that water protection is up to 1 metre for 30 minutes, so you can be confident in it surviving the occasional downpour. Not just rain either, this military-grade handset is also guaranteed against' salt fog' (whatever that is) and extremely hot and cold temperatures. Trust us, you can take it anywhwere. Oh yes, it's a phone too - and one with a reasonable, if not groundbreaking specification. That includes a 1.77-inch LCD, 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording, a media player with FM radio, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and a flashlight.
