Samsung OmniaHD is world's first phone to record 720p HD video
Samsung has revealed its Omnia successor, christened OmniaHD, at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
The OmniaHD has earned its additional acronym twice over: this is the first ever phone that’s capable of recording video in 720p HD. Thanks to Samsung, falling satellite debris should prove a lot harder to deny from now on.
But filming in 720p is no good if your handiwork can’t be viewed on a screen that does it justice. Fortunately, Samsung has got that covered: the OmniaHD’s 3.7” touchscreen AMOLED display is by far the most impressive looking screen we’ve seen at the show so far, and sets a standard that few other companies are going to be able to best.
