Samsung reveals MBP200 pico projector at CES 2009

Look out Optoma and Aiptek, Samsung announced the MBP200 pico projector today at CES 2009, ideal for connecting to mobile phones, iPods and laptops. They’ve squeezed a DLP pico chip from Texas Instruments into the 107.3 x 48.8 x 19mm casing, along with a 2.2-inch QVGA LCD screen and microSD card slot. In addition to throwing images onto blank walls or screens at 50-inches in size, it also stores pictures, PDF, PowerPoint, Word and Excel files. The resolution isn’t impressive at 480 x 320, but then it is a pico projector, so fairly standard fare really. Plug in headphones via the 3.5mm jack, otherwise the built-in speaker will blast tinny audio for all to hear. Launching later this year, no word has been mentioned about the price of the Samsung BBP200 as yet.
