Sony’s Hong Kong arm of the Sony Style store has let slip the first set of full specs for the brand new Sony Walkman personal media player.
We first caught wind of the Sony X1000 ahead of CES and the device didn’t disappoint when it was dutifully unveiled in Vegas back in January However, now that the specs are out, we wonder if Sony couldn’t have gone the extra mile.
Sony has brought a number of eye-catching technologies to its latest proud bearer of the Walkman brand name. Touchscreen is the big one, shamelessly aping the iPod Touch. In much the same way as Apple’s multi-faceted gadget, the NWZ-X1000 packs a number of on board applications, including an internet browser, YouTube and Podcast Direct Download.
The browser, however, uses the same NetFront technology as used by the PSP and PS3 – so we’d expect it to be useable, but ultimately a poor replacement for a proper, fully featured web browser.
