Sprint ’s (S) new unlimited voice and data plan for its Boost Mobile unit has, well, boosted demand for the service, according to Wachovia analyst Jennier Fritzsche .
Fritzsche reports in a research note that checks over the last few days find that Boost Mobile service is selling so well at Radio Shack (RSH) stores that some outlets were almost sold out of Boost handsets, which are made by Motorola (MOT) . “Many of the Radio Shack reps indicated that they have seen a significant pick up in sales and interest since the new unlimited plans were rolled out at the end of January,” she writes.
She notes that at Sprint’s own retail stores, sales reps tried to steer her toward the company’s primary brand, stressing the quality of Sprint’s data network.
Fritzsche today repeated her Outperform rating on Sprint shares, noting that there are some coming catalysts for the stock, including the current sales momentum at Boost and the pending launch of the ...
