Guitar Hero may've bagged Metallica for an upcoming game, but Rock Band has pulled off the biggest coup of all: they've acquired the rights to use The Beatles songs in an upcoming version of the musical game. Well done to Harmonix, Apple Corps and MTV Games in sorting out such a massive partnership.
Released on the 9th of September - that's 09/09/09 for conspiracy theorists - it will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii. All the instruments you've been practising on will be supported, including the guitar, bass, mic and drums, however there'll also be "a limited number of new hardware offerings modeled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout their career".
Expect to see plastic models of a piccolo trumpet, sitar, swarmandal or mellotron bundled with the game, then.
