Toshiba joins the increasing number of TV makers seeking to find new ways of delivering content to your living room and the internet now provides an obvious means of doing so. As of 2009, Toshiba is equipping its Regza LCD TVs, LCD TV/DVD combos and its new stand alone Network Player with networking capabilities.
These devices will have access to a range of services, including an “extensive library of of TV shows and movies”, news services and weather forecasts and media streaming via Windows Media Extender. Tosh has teamed up with Microsoft, Intel and Yahoo! to make it happen – Microsoft provides the Windows Media Extender, naturally, while Intel and Yahoo! will have a selection of pre-set informational services, but you’ll also be able to customise your choice of content on the systems.
In future, the company’s line of Regza HDTVs will all offer the service, along with the new range of LCD TV/DVD combo sets. If you are just ...
