Toshiba stuns with the new TG01 touchscreen mobile

Several weeks ahead of Mobile World Congress - the year's ultimate mobile phone extravaganza - Toshiba has unveiled the TG01 smartphone, a complete revival of their handset range.   Not particularly known for their mobile phones, that's sure to change once the TG01 hits the production line. It's sporting a 4.1-inch touchscreen, with WVGA resolution, measuring 9.9mm thick - in other words, thinner, with a better display than the iPhone.   HSDPA internet, plus HSUPA and Wi-Fi connectivity are standards we're now accustomed to, as well as GPS and DivX support.   The processor is a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon, and it runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. That might turn some readers off the TG01, however Uncle Toshiba has put some sparkly new interfaces on it, to make it less WM6, more Toshiba.   There will also be a neat new feature which will allow you to answer and hang up phone calls by shaking the phone.
