Looking for a last minute festive bargain? Look no further than Zavvi and the Xbox 360.
The entertainment retailer has slashed the price of the Arcade pack to £99.99, the first time the Xbox has dipped below the £100 mark at that particular store. And there are discounts further up the chain too, with the Premium 360 selling for £149.99 and the Elite yours for £199.99. Or if you fancy a PS3, there's £30 off that too, bringing it down to £269.99.
According to the official press blurb from Zavvi, the price cut is a reaction to 'how people's wallets are being tightened because of the economy'. Admirable as that might sound, we suspect it is more down to the need to shift as much stock as possible before Christmas. Let's be honest, there's unlikely to be a rush for consoles in the lean months ahead.
Not that we're complaining. A price war might not be great for profit margins, but it does mean more money in our pockets. And that has to be a good thing. ...
