<title>RIMM: Bulls Pounds The Table After Developer Conference</title>
	<link>http://gadgetblips.dailyradar.com/article/rimm-bulls-pounds-the-table-after-developer-conference/</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt; Research In Motion (RIMM) shares received a flurry of Street endorsements this morning, as at least three  bulls on the stock this morning issued upbeat notes following the company&amp;#8217;s developer conference yesterday in San Francisco.

RBC Capital analyst Mike Abramsky writes that announcements at the conference have narrowed the &amp;#8220;perceived competitive gaps&amp;#8221; versus rival smart phone platforms. The company unveiled an updated Web browser which is expected to ship early in 2010, demonstrated a new user interface , and announced new push, security and location-based services . RIMM also demonstrated Adobe Flash support on the BlackBerry. He notes that the new tools will allow for services like notifying users when friends are nearby. He says the combination of new offerings &amp;#8220;may leapfrog&amp;#8221; both the Apple (AAPL) iPhone , which can&amp;#8217;t multi-task, and Android , which lacks the ability to do push applications. Abramsky maintains his Outperform rating.

<title>RIMM: Susquehanna Downgrades; Sees Risks From Android</title>
	<link>http://gadgetblips.dailyradar.com/article/rimm-susquehanna-downgrades-sees-risks-from-android/</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt; Susquehanna Financial analyst Jeffrey Fidicaro this morning downgraded Research In Motion (RIMM) to Neutral from Positive, asserting that Google &amp;#8217;s (GOOG) Android 2.0 operating system &amp;#8220;will be more competitive than expected previously,&amp;#8221; while catalysts expected in calendar Q4 2009 and Q1 2010 could be weaker than estimated. The combination, he writes, could lead to disappointing consumer sector net customer adds for the BlackBerry maker, especially in higher-end smart phones.
&amp;#8220;While we believe valuation is attractive, RIM could announce consumer-focused software upgrades at its developer conference [this week] and RIM continues to dominate the corporate smart phone market with a clear competitive advantage, we believe upside to shares will be limited in the intermediate term as RIM&amp;#8217;s market share at Verizon (VZ) could be at risk,&amp;#8221; he writes. Verizon, of course, is carrying the new Android-based Motorola (MOT) Droid , among other new phones.
