Apple: Will They Produce Their Own iPhone Games?

Apple (AAPL) has shaken up the video game industry, with the emergence of the iPhone and iPod Touch as an attractive platform for game developers. So far, though, almost all of those games come from outside developers. (They do offer a version of Texas Hold ‘Em .) But that could change.
As AppleInsider noted on Friday , the company has posted a job seeking to higher a game and media software engineers for the iPhone/Touch team, “perhaps signaling that the company intends to expand its first-party software offerings.”
The post notes that the company ways a “passionate gamer” to help design “interactive multimedia experiences” on the iPhone and Touch.
Apple today is up $2.85, or 1.4%, to $207.27.

Macworld.com - The app store is overflowing with great tools that can turn a photographer's iPhone or iPod touch into a photo assistant (though it falls short in the heavy lifting department). Taking pictures of children? Use the PandaCam app to make them smile. If you're working with models, bring up the iPoseU app for posing inspiration. Still life photographers can take advantage of the A Level app to make sure their images are properly aligned.

Find more top gadget news, videos, and blogs on GadgetBlips: Phones, iPhone

Deathmatch: Motorola Droid versus iPhone
    (InfoWorld)

InfoWorld - Here we go again: Another swaggering company claims to have the iPhone killer. This time, it's Motorola and Verizon Wireless, with the Droid. You've seen the "Droid does" campaign, but let's cut to the chase: The Motorola Droid does not do that much. It's a real letdown after all the hype, with some amazingly dumb design decisions, such as lack of a multitouch screen (no gesture support) and a hard-to-use keyboard.

Find more top gadget news, videos, and blogs on GadgetBlips: Phones, Motorola, Verizon, iPhone

Radio Shack To Carry iPhone; Analysts Enthused; Stock Jumps

Radio Shack (RSH) disclosed in an 8-K filing with the SEC Friday that the company will launch sales of the Apple (AAPL) iPhone 3G and 3Gs in a limited number of stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth and New York areas starting later this month. The retailer said it will introduce the iPhone in stores nationwide in 2010.
The news has triggered a flurry of enthusiastic research notes from the Street on the improved prospects for the Shack:

Credit Suisse analyst Gary Balter this morning raised his rating on RSH to Outperform from Neutral, with a new price target of $25, up from $15. He says the Apple news is a “game changer,” which combined with other recent initiatives, easy near-term earnings comparisons and a low valuation point to potential multiple expansion in 2010.
