... eco-friendly LED lamp that takes power directly from the RJ11 socket that usually connects to your land line phone. The lamp has 8 LEDs, which are bright enough to shine for you at night and the best is it does not increase your electricity bill.
Although it looks like a piece of cheap plastic, but it costs a mere $4.70, which is worth a try. It features flexible goose neck to let you adjust the illuminating angle you desire.

Energy Efficient Lamp is Powered by a Telephone Jack Only

... There’s no other way to plug it in other than your telephone jack, which you’re likely not using anyway. Even if you are a dedicated landline user, there’s usually jacks that you don’t use scattered about your house. No wattage is listed in the product description but I wouldn’t be expecting too much from this low powered lamp, especially at the $4.69 price point. Anyone out there know how many watts you can get from an RJ11 telephone jack?

8 LED Desk Lamp Powered By A Telephone Jack

... that a landline phone will continue to work even in the event of a power failure wasn’t enough to stop me from going cellphone only, but it’s nice to know those unused phone jacks dotting my walls aren’t just an eyesore now. The trickle of power they carry is apparently enough to power this 8 LED desk lamp that features an RJ11 connector at the end of the power cord, instead of a plug or USB connector. The pink color scheme is a bit on the hideous side, but for just $4.69 the lamp at least seems like a handy emergency light for your next power outage. ...
Sweet Revenge: Phone-Jack Powered Lamp Rips Off Telcos

... the supplier of the trickle of electricity to your phone. And remember, this power stays on even when your regular power is out.
Which leads us to the question: Is this legal? I know that in the UK, anything that you can hook up to a phone jack need to be certified for that use. It’s hard to see telcos being happy about this freeloading lamp, so we guess you should grab one of these pink plastic monstrosities while you can. The price? An almost-free €3.18 ($4.73).

This LED lamp is powered by your phone line
DVICE Atom Feed —
Sick of high electricity bills? Well, you know that the phone company is sending a bit of energy through their lines to power phones, right? Why not use that to your own sneaky advantage?
This LED lamp plugs in not to an electrical outlet, but to a phone jack. It then uses that power to light up, giving you a light you can feel guilt-free about leaving on all day. Your phone company might not love it, but whatever. They're the phone company.

... emergency. And, finally, what could be the most appealing reason to uses this ugly, cheap, and insignificant source of light is that the power you pull from telecoms is free. They pay for it...you don't. Now that I think of it, it's probably against the TOS agreement you have with the phone company, but there are no meters, so they'll never know. You can use all of the (really insignificant amount) of electricity you want to power this lamp, and you'll never get charged for it.
