... Oct 28th which is in TWO DAYS! It will be available online, at Verizon stores, and through business channels at the same time. They also took the time to make the OS 5.0 updates for the original BlackBerry Storm 9530 official.
The BlackBerry Storm2 smartphone will retail for $179.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract with a voice plan with a BlackBerry plan or just a plain BlackBerry standalone plan. The rebate will be given in a Verizon debit card.

... what we expected if not better. If you can remember the Verizon BlackBerry Tour sold for $199 on a 2 year contract.
What's interesting about this release date is it will be the same day that Verizon hosts the special Motorola Droid event. Now the Droid clearly wants to challenge the iPhone but will it also cause competition with the Storm 2? If so it is certainly an interesting tactic by Verizon and it will be interesting to see how well the Droid does.
