Japanese manufacturer has been pretty late to Jump into the NetBooks Wagon, and almost 1 year after ASUS, and due to declinning sales in Japan, Toshiba, NEC and now Epson are launching their Netbooks... The only problem, is that this devices are still running on XP and there are no Linux ...

Epson to enter netbook race

Another netbook announcement coming out of Asia, this time from Epson. The uniquely-named MiniNote will have, come on see if you can guess, a 1.6 GHz Atom, 1 GB, 160 GB HDD, Windows XP, 10.2" screen, yada yada yada. No word on pricing yet but the MiniNote is expected in Japan in November. I like the way Epson is clouding the MiniNote in a veil of mystery in the ad:

Ho-hum, another netbook. Does every CE manufacturer need to make one of these sub-laptops? Seriously. This time it’s Epson trying to generate some buzz with the above coming soon banner. The specs for the MiniNote have been released and they are just like every other netbook on the market.
