Access also unveiled its new ALP mini operating system for feature phones. ALP mini is a stripped down version of ALP 3.0 that is meant for less powerful devices. ALP mini is available to manufacturers now, while the official availability date for ALP 3.0 has yet to be made public. Japan’s NTT DoCoMo has already said that it will support the new ALP 3.0 platform on its network.

Access claim, Access Linux Platform Mini is more for the stringent and performance requirements of mobile and internet devices in emerging markets. The word is the ALP subset has evolved from the China MobileSoft Linux stack which was acquired by PalmSource in 2004.
