Acer Android netbook will be dual-OS: no escape from Windows
SlashGear —
... , we didn’t expect that to mean dual-booting. However, much to Linux-lovers dismay (and in fact anybody who wanted to avoid the so-called “Windows tax” of roughly $25 for an XP license), company president JT Wang has now confirmed that at least the first wave of Android netbooks will come with both open-source and Microsoft OS. ...
First Acer Android netbook will dual-boot Windows
Engadget —

Acer's Android Netbook Will Come With Windows, Fail at Being an "Android Netbook" [Android]
Gizmodo —
... To characterize Android as a value-added feature is to miss the point entirely, the point being that Android is free, and XP is not. Bundling a gimpy, largely untouched version of Android into an existing netbook relegates the OS to novelty status, which isn't what we—or any other netbook watchers—had in mind earlier this week. Acer’s Android netbooks to dual boot Windows
CrunchGear —
... package with cellular data plans, the company would consider it if demand were high enough.
So those of us looking for less-expensive Acer netbooks likely won’t see those savings just yet. Granted, Acer’s netbook pricing has already been pretty aggressive. We’ll still be kicking in a bit extra for Windows, though. Acer may be able to pitch the inclusion of Android as an extra feature instead of positioning it as a primary operating system at first.

Acer Android Netbooks Will Include Windows After All
jkOnTheRun —
... would be cheaper than the same system running Windows, you thought wrong. It’s not your fault though. When Acer originally said they’d be offering Android on netbooks, they left out one key detail until today, reports DigiTimes. The netbooks will actually include a Windows license as well, so you can boot into one or the other operating system. ...
Acer will offer dual-boot netbooks with Android and Windows
Tech Ticker —
... is a safe bet because consumer’s acceptance towards an Android netbook is not known. The non-workability of many software on Android could be another reason why Acer wanted to give Windows as an added option. Wang did not comment on the possible price of such netbooks but we reckon it wouldn’t cost more than the currently selling Windows netbooks.
Acer is also planning to sell Android-only netbooks if they get positive response from the cellular operators.

Crave: The gadget blog —
... "(Acer Chairman) Wang pointed out that the dual-OS strategy is much safer for Acer, since consumer acceptance of the Android platform is unclear for the time being," DigiTimes reported.
