... Alltel Palm Treo Pro will run $199 on a 2-year contract, after a $125 rebate. In the Palm Treo Pro you’ll get all of the biggies including WiFi, GPS and 3G speeds. Still, it’s no Pre, but like I mentioned before… If you’re waiting patiently perhaps this will tide Alltel customers over until they can get their hands on the Pre. My advice though? If you really want the Pre save the $199 and put it towards the device when it becomes available

... we’ve seen this phone offered in Canada for $99, albeit with a 3-year contract. My theory is Palm/Sprint know they need to keep the Pro as a stepping stone to the Pre, so $199 for the Pro leads to a $299 Pre. Just a guess though at this stage of the game.
If you have been jonesing for this phone, looks like you’ll get it with a carrier subsidization shortly. Of course, we’ve been told that for quite some time now.
